Grou de Bane Site de décollage de Jok'Air Parapente à Banon Site de décollage de Jok’Air Parapente à Banon Le Grou de Bane est le sommet du secteur (1050m), C’est là que se trouvent les décollages face au brises d’Est à Sud, Sudouest. Le dénivelé est de 300m. Sa générosité thermique permet régulièrement de monter et d’augmenter les points de vue. Sa spécialité est d’accepter de fortes conditions de vent de Sud-est, dans une douceur relative et surprenante.

Access/cards : You are welcome. Access by foot and by car. Follow the direction signs to « Grou de Bane » from the village of Banon. Parking at the top. This multi-directional takeoff offers good fl ying conditions by SE and SW wind. It’s easy to fl y early in the morning. Easy site to fl y and access. Good place to learn thermal fl ights. Xcountry fl ights are frequent from this place. The east wind is profi table even in moderate wind. The site is close to various other well known sites : Rustrel, Gamby, Contras, St Jean de Sault, Séderon ... Site interest : Exceptional landscapes for this site of the “Plateau d’Albion”. The relief is very favorable for Xcountry fl ights, with the atmospheres of the south: limestones, cheeses, lavender ... With good visibility, you can see the Mont Ventoux, SteVictoire, Montagne de Lure and les Ecrins. The distant geographical position of the Rhone Valley preserves relatively from Northern winds (Mistral). The fl ying sites of Banon are managed by the free fl ight association «Voler au Pays 04» and the professional school «Jok’Air Parapente», in partnership with the municipality. For your pleasure and in order to preserve the site, groups of pilots or schools are asked to inform Jok’Air Parapente of their arrival on the site by calling 06 80 40 23 42 or by email : jok.air@live.fr. Observations / Hazards : It is important that you have a look of the landing place before you fl yght. This site if not fyable by north or west wind. If you doubt about the aerology, please ask the school.

Gamby Gamby Gamby C’est une crête qui sépare les communes de Lardiers et Banon, aux abords des vieux vestiges Romains du Chastelas. On y vole par secteur de brise de Sud-ouest à Nord-ouest. Le dénivelé est faible mais le rendement en dynamique ou restitution est étonnant.

Observations : Park respectfully and under the trees. Access : The site can be seen from Banon, at the ridge of a wooden hill. Quite close are the Roman ruins of Chastellas. From Banon, take the direction of Saumane by the D950 and D12. After 2.5km, turn right towards Les Agreniers. You ride 650 m on the track and then turn left for 1km. Easy walk to climb (20 minutes). Watch out for North wind (misleading headwind!) Winds can be strong. Good thermal profi tability early afternoon, then good soaring and restitution in the evening.

Banon Banon Banon Banon est un village des Alpes de haute Provence (04). Il est situé sur la partie Sud du Plateau d’ Albion, à 800m d’altitude. On y baigne dans la chaleur sudiste. On y danse au rythme des cigales, des brises ou du Mistral. On y respire des senteurs de lavande, de sauges, thym ainsi qu’une foules d’autres parfums provençaux. Ce village est réputé pour ces excellents produits régionaux, notamment le fameux et délicieux fromage de chèvre emballé dans les feuilles de châtaigniers.
